Echoing Green Fellow Alana Feldman Soler coordinates and organizes volunteers in an educative program called Mascotas Jibaras in San Juan Puerto Rico. Mascotas Jibaras’ mission is to reduce the number of stray animals in Puerto Rico through education and sterilization programs. Prior to becoming an Echoing Green Fellow, Alana worked with immigrant populations in Minnesota coordinating organizations such as “Take back the Night” and La Organización de Estudiates Latinos (LASO), organizations dedicated to strengthening community development among Latinos populations. She has also served as Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala. Alana holds a BA degree in History with a concentration in Latin American Studies from Carlton College and a MA in Public Administration with a concentration in Human Services from the University of Arizona.
