XinfuGo Group

Program Area: Poverty Alleviation & Economic Development
Location of Impact: China
Bold Idea: Build an accessible retail and distribution platform to provide access to the safe and effective products that rural communities in China need.
Why I'm Passionate About This: Over 400 million rural residents in China buy higher priced and inferior products, causing grave hygiene, safety, and malnutrition concerns for vulnerable populations. Born in rural China, I experienced the struggles of millions of rural migrants and had the opportunity to reinvent my life. Now, I seek to leverage my passion and skills to help others. For years, I worked to scale microfinance but realized making an impact required an innovative model. XinfuGo Group gives rural families access to quality essential products like safe infant formula and basic weatherizing tools for their homes, in hopes that they, too, might reinvent their lives.

Have you Explored Hapinoy's Model in Phliippines
Hello Ying --
Congratulations on making the Echoing Green Finals. Your idea sounds like a fantastic one & am very interested to see how it will grow.
I'm wondering if you have heard of the social enterprise Hapinoy (www.hapinoy.com) based in Philippines. They've built a network of about 10,000 community rural stores where they can then distribute a variety of products targeting the needs of rural Filipinos. Their goal is to cover all of Philippines through this network. Not sure if this is similar to your business model, but I do know the Managing Director Hapinoy (Mark Ruiz) fairly well as I am partnering with him on the social enterprise I am incubating. Would be happy to make introduction for you if you think that would be helpful. Just email me (darren.c.miao@gmail.com) & I will happily connect the two of you.
Anyways, congratulations again & Jiao You!

Thank you Darren for your advice.
Dear Darren,
Thanks a lot for the message, and I am incredibly sorry for my very late reply. Didn't realize I can click in to my company name to see people's comments until just now.
Yes - that would be fantastic! Hapinoy's model is very relevant to us, and I would love to know more about it. I will send you an email shortly. Thanks for the introduction!
Best,
Ying
