We are very excited to announce that President Obama will be meeting with social innovators today in the East Room of the White House. Through the Social Innovation Fund and the White House Office of Social Innovation, the President will be announcing plans for how government can partner with social sector innovators to solve problems.

Echoing Green is set to take over Capitol Hill tomorrow, as President Cheryl Dorsey and 1994 Fellow Van Jones are slated to testify before the House Education and Labor Committee.

Last week, our newsletter asked the question, "What is President Obama’s Social Innovation Agenda and what does it mean for nonprofits and the social sector?"

Yesterday, three Echoing Green staffers took part in The Feast, an all-day social innovation conference. Despite a severe initial shortage of fair-trade coffee, the day kicked off with high energy presentations from Dickson Despommier of The Vertical Farm Project, Tom Szaky of Terracyle, and Joshua Onysko of Pangea Organics.
And that was just before 11 am.
