This is our favorite day of the year -- the day we announce the newest class of Echoing Green Fellows. We simply can't wait to tell the world about the extraordinary work of these promising social entrepreneurs.

Echoing Green meets rising social entrepreneurs at one of the most important inflection points. That is, when they have taken responsibility for a problem in the world and made a commitment to implement their bold new idea to solve that problem.

It is inspiring and humbling to connect with people at this critical stage—when their idea hasn’t quite lifted off their computer screens, when they listen intently for feedback yet move beyond the naysayers, and when their desire to bring about positive social change is their biggest motivator.

Crafting your bold idea for social change?  You’d better hurry. There are just two weeks left to apply for the 2009 Echoing Green Fellowship!  The deadline is December 1st at 5pm EST.

We’re excited to announce three new resources intended to assist you in writing your best possible application. 

Did you know that the majority of Echoing Green Fellows had some type of coach read over and critique their application? Having a coach can bring you even closer to your first major fellowship award!

We have recently launched a new Applicant Coaching Guide for the 2009 fellowship cycle! The guide is designed to help candidates strengthen and solidify their application responses before the submission deadline (December 1, 2008).

After receiving nearly 1,500 applications for our fellowship program this past fall, Echoing Green has narrowed this record-setting pool to thirty incredible finalist organizations. More than 200 social change experts, business leaders, and Echoing Green alumni from all over the world have spent the last two months reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. And now, their hard work and deep analysis make us proud to announce the following organizations as 2008 Echoing Green Fellowship Finalists:

Echoing Green is proud to announce that 347 incredible emerging social change organizations have been selected as semifinalists in our 2008 fellowship competition. Out of a record-setting pool of nearly 1,500 applications, 25 percent were selected to advance to next phase of the application process. Every application was reviewed by our team of dozens of Echoing Green staff, alumni, and social change experts.
