Last week nine social enterprises came together for a four-day retreat in Kenya. Since Echoing Green Fellows spend most of their time deep in the trenches of operational execution, this was a great chance to step back, reflect and recharge. Sanergy reports back.
Echoing Green's Fellows are always pushing deep, sustainable social change. Here are some of thier recent news and accolades:
2009 EG Fellow Dhruv Lakra (pictured above) received the CNN-IBN Young Indian Leader Award. Lakra's organization, Mirakle Couriers, employs deaf people giving them a chance to increase their livelihood and making them more economically independent.
Building community. That is one of the big take-aways from this year’s New Fellows Retreat.
Last week’s announcement of the 2011 Echoing Green Fellows was truly exciting! In just a few hours, the 2011 Fellows webpage received thousands of views from users all over the world. Thanks to those of you who celebrated the new class and helped spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.
