Peter Buffett and Akon Debut “Blood Into Gold” at the UN

We got word this week that musician and philanthropist Peter Buffet and R&B/pop star Akon are releasing a new track titled “Blood Into Gold” this Wednesday, March 25th. The song was written to commemorate the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. It will be performed live at the United Nation’s General Assembly Hall on Wednesday night.

Bart Decrem and Tapulous Featured in All Things Digital

1992 Echoing Green Fellow Bart Decrem has had an astonishing entrepreneurial career.  He founded PluggedIn with an Echoing Green Fellowship in order to bridge the digital divide in East Palo Alto, CA in the days before web browsers and that whole Internet craze.  He later went on to work on several high-profile technology projects including GNOME and the web browser Flock as well as co-founding the philanthropic Full Circle Fund.

Modern Bride Proposes to I Do Foundation

Recently, the I Do Foundation, started by 2002 Echoing Green Fellows Bethany Robertson and Lawrence Miller, caught the attention of Modern Bride magazine.  Modern Bride has asked them to partner with the magazine on an exciting campaign, “I’m a Modern Bride,” which features celebrity brides. The magazine is donating $5,000 in honor of each of five bridal celebrities profiled in their latest issue.
