Race & Pathways to Employment

When Jordyn Lexton '15 asked their students what they needed to create the future they want–for so many, the answer was employment which inspired the launch of Drive Change. Access to jobs is one piece of the puzzle, but how systems and structures reinforce inequity in the workplace also need to be addressed to build upon the positive transformation that leaders like Jordyn, Donnel Baird '12 (BlocPower), and Jessamyn Rodriguez '08 (Hot Bread Kitchen) are helping to build. Check out the conversation they had with WNYC's Jami Floyd on how race and pathways to employment connect to the redistribution of power, redefining employability, and the power of stories to shape critical thought.
