The Global Fund for Children (GFC) has been selected by The Financial Times as its 2012 Seasonal Appeal charity partner. Founder Maya Ajmera, a 1993 Echoing Green Fellow, a 1993 Echoing Green Fellow, currently serves as Vice-Chair of its Board and led the organization from 1993-2011. GFC finds and invests in grassroots organizations that make sure the most disadvantaged children in their communities are safe, healthy and educated. They have invested over $26 million in 500 grassroots groups in seventy-eight countries.
Reporters from The Financial Times traveled to several different countries where GFC supports local grassroots organizations to report on their work and to share their stories of hope, transformation and innovation. The first of their nearly fifteen articles is running today on the front page of the FT Analysis Page (free subscription required) and you can follow along over the next two months.
