Bold Idea: Deliver clean and safe energy to rural India.

Why We Are So Passionate: More than half of the world’s population uses hazardous energy practices, resulting in the death of two million people annually. Spending time in Indian villages where people sat in darkness upset us; seeing their efforts to light their homes turn into blazing fires scared us. We left jobs working in microfinance and supply chains to address the root cause of this problem: access. Frontier Markets will work to distribute clean and safe energy products at great scale, provide technical support, and educate every household in a community so they can light their homes and protect their families.
