Treat victims of road accidents within minutes of a collision by creating India’s first community-driven emergency medical response system.
Organization
India suffers the highest number of road accident deaths in the world. In countless cases victims perish because emergency care fails to reach them. SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) is a non-profit organization established to fill this severe gap in India’s medical services by enabling community-driven emergency medical responses for road accident victims. SLF trains community volunteers and Police officers to become medical first-responders; connects them through its technology platform; and mobilizes them within seconds of a distress call, ensuring timely care starting by the roadside and continuing during transportation to hospital.
Biography
Piyush Tewari is an award-winning social entrepreneur passionate about developing solutions for large-scale social problems through a creative mix of public engagement, policy reform and technology innovation. In his previous role as the India-head of a Private Equity firm, Piyush restructured the group's portfolio companies, enhanced their operational efficiency and grew them rapidly. A certified Instructor in Basic Life Support, Piyush holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from University of Delhi, India.
