Bold Idea

Transform teaching and learning in the lowest-performing American public schools so that every child, regardless of background, thrives in school.

Partners in School Innovation enables public schools in high-poverty Bay Area communities serving students of color and English-language learners to achieve educational equity through school-based reform.

Julien also worked with McKinsey & Company for many years, where he specialized in managing major change in complex organizations. He is a founding board member of Ashoka, a board member of the Pacific School of Religion, and an organizing committee member of Teamworks Co-operative. Julien is also the co-founder and Executive Director emeritus of Partners in School Innovation.
