Josh Edelman 1995 fellow
Josh Edelman joins the District of Columbia Public Schools leadership team after his time as executive officer in the Chicago Public Schools’ Office of New Schools. Before coming to Chicago Public Schools, Josh worked with the SEED Foundation for seven years. Edelman was principal of the SEED Public Charter School in Washington D.C. (2001-2006), the country’s only public, urban, boarding school and an Academic Advisor to the SEED Foundation from 2006-2007. Josh started his career as a teacher and administrator at Milton Academy, and later became a social studies teacher at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California where he directed a youth development program targeting African-American children. He has held both instructional and administrative positions in numerous schools during his career, and has served on the board of such institutions as the SEED Foundation and the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning.
