MELODY: Music, Education, Listening and Outreach for District Youth
Washington D.C., United States
Arts, Culture, Humanities, Education & Youth Leadership
MELODY brought the joy of music to children (age 7-13) in group homes throughout Washington, D.C. After an opening concert by MELODY teachers, the kids would choose their instrument, learn to play over months and years, then perform in concerts themselves. Through MELODY, hundreds of children learned the pride of individual accomplishment and the joy of the creative spirit.
