Empower marginalized children in India to become global citizens by growing a network of model schools that elevate the quality of education within communities and across the country.
Organization
3.2.1’s vision is to create India’s first high quality charter-like school network that will create a new standard of excellence for educating children from marginalized communities. The schools will serve as ‘belief centers’ for people to see what is truly possible. By using research to shape our practice, and technology to capture our methodology, we are creating ‘lab schools’ which, like R&D centers, will create, test, and then share innovations in teaching with the broader education community.
Biography
Gaurav Singh, founder of the 3.2.1 Education Foundation, is an engineer by training who worked for Accenture before becoming the first Teach For India Fellow in its founding batch. He was then selected for the first Global batch of the prestigious Fisher Fellowship with the KIPP schools in the US. He travelled for a year including to countries like Finland to learn best practices in education before starting 3.2.1's first school in Mumbai in June 2012.
