bold idea

Lead climate change mitigation and adaptation and sustainable natural resource management in rural Malawi by using drone data.

organization overview

Craft and Theory Flying Labs’ mission is to provide effective low-cost solutions in development work, environmental management, and climate change mitigation and adaptation by using drone data imagery. In climate change mitigation the organization works with vulnerable communities in participatory scenario planning, community-based flood forecasting and early-warning systems. For environmental conservation, Craft and Theory Flying Labs works with rural masses that live off subsistence farming to promote climate smart agricultural interventions, land conservation, agroforestry, and sustainable natural resource management. The organization leverages drone imagery and data to document the environment and humans’ interaction with it in a way that was not possible before.
