The organization financed small businesses and cooperatives in the Amazon that were harvesting, processing, and exporting non-timber forest products (fruits, nuts, oils and essences) to Body Shop, Ben & Jerry's, etc. Its mission was to create an economic base and livelihoods for Amazon residents that was not based on deforestation.
Diana is now General Partner of Expansion Capital Partners' Clean Technology Fund, II, LP - a $100+ million venture capital fund investing in cleantech in the areas of water, energy, materials, manufacturing and industrial processes. Cleantech is defined as resource efficiency and productivity - making more with less energy, water, raw materials, and less waste and toxicity.
