Bold Idea

Engage and empower America’s youth in a national movement for quality education.

Organization
Our Education is the voice of young people across the country who believe that all American children should have access to high quality education. It was created as a response to the sad reality that the most critical stakeholders in education—students themselves—do not have a voice in school reform efforts.

Biography

Aaron Tang is the co-founder of Our Education, which builds and empowers the student voice in education reform. He graduated from Yale University in 2005 with a BA in political science. During the summers after his sophomore and junior years of college, he taught at Aspire, a tuition free summer program for Cleveland inner-city middle school students. He now considers those summers to be the most important and formative experiences of his life. Aaron is a 2004 Truman Scholar, 2005 USA Today All-USA College Academic First Team honoree, and recipient of the 2005 Alpheus Henry Snow Prize, given by Yale University Faculty. Aaron also won the 2005 American Eagle Outfitters Live Your Life competition for his work with Our Education.
