What moves you?
The knowledge that our Fellows are tackling some of the biggest global challenges facing our generation, and the possibility that their innovations could lead to breakthroughs in the fight against poverty, the advancement of women’s rights, and the quality and availability of education.

Kate Aitken, member of Echoing Green's Social Investment Council, is an investment banking analyst at Barclays Capital in London, where she covers financial institutions. In addition to her work on M&A in the financial technology sector, Kate has served as an elected representative on the firm’s Global Advisory Committee and held leadership positions in the Women’s Initiatives Network’s Junior Advisory Council and the firm’s analyst recruitment program. Through her work with Echoing Green, Kate became involved with Shining Hope for Communities, co-founded by EG Fellows Jessica Posner and Kennedy Odede; she is currently working with SHC on strategic funding initiatives and establishing their young professionals’ board. Kate also volunteers as a Class Agent for the Yale Alumni Fund, which supports the university’s basic operations and provides need-based financial aid for students. While in college, Kate worked for the Yale Development Office as a YAF fundraiser and Senior Class Gift volunteer. In 2009, she was an American Cancer Society DetermiNation runner in the Hamptons Half Marathon. As an undergraduate, Kate studied abroad at Peking University in China and spent summers working at the intersection of government and finance in New York, Brussels, and Beijing. She holds a BA in political science with distinction from Yale University and enjoys yoga, opera, and travel in her free time.
