The Echoing Green team has grown once again with five (!) new hires starting in the last month, including three that are filling brand new positions. We’re excited to be able to do even more to promote and support innovation for social change.
Leighton Britton and Jenny Bailey join the Development Team. Leighton is our new Development Associate. She recently earned a certificate in Business Management from Columbia, after interning at Synergos and Common Cents. Here’s a teaser from her bio: she’s a fan of writing from the ‘Lost Generation.’ Jenny is our new Development Director. Until recently, she was a Development Officer for Millennium Promise where she managed special events, corporate engagement, and web-based outreach. Her bio teaser: she just signed up for a half-marathon. Way to go!
Deva Jones and Blake Giffin are our new Program Associates. Deva will be focusing on recruitment. She comes to us after a gig at America’s Promise, Colin Powell's youth development organization. Check out her bio to learn more about her twelve year-old Chocolate Labrador, Samson. Blake will be supporting our Fellowship Program after earning her certification in fundraising and philanthropy through NYU’s Heyman Center. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find if you read her bio: she recently visited Lagos, Nigeria. Why? You'll have to read on...
Shalena Broadnax joins the Support Team as Special Assistant to the President. Shalena was a Jeanette K. Watson Fellow, and interned at Global Kids, Scenarios USA, and Save the Children. A sneak peek from the bio: she co-directed and co-wrote a short documentary called “Shyam Kumar: Portrait of a Terra Cotta Artist,” which won the Best Documentary Film Award at the 2007 CUNY Asian American Film Festival.
