Voting Now Open in JusticeMakers People's Choice Awards
As we noted in July, Karen Tse, a 2002 Echoing Green Fellow, has launched a JusticeMakers community competition to award $40,000 to help fund innovative criminal justice projects. The nominations are in, and it's time for the voting to begin! Seven $5000 awards will be granted by a panel of expert judges and one "People's Choice" award will be determined by registered users of JusticeMakers.net.
The site showcases fifty-five innovative concrete ideas for curbing torture and legal abuse on a local level. The ideas range from text messaging services to public exhibitions documenting incidents of abuse. Head over to JusticeMaker.net to find and rate a project.
That's all it takes. With a few clicks, you can help end torture in the 21st century. Voting ends November 11th.
