Tahir Amin and Priti Radhakrishnan Featured in IndiaCurrents
2008 Echoing Green Fellows and I-MAK co-founders Tahir Amin and Priti Radhakrishnan are featured in this month’s issue of IndiaCurrents. In “Challenging Patents for Patients,” author Kalpana Mohan talks with Tahir and Priti about their efforts to help sick and dying individuals in developing countries get the medicine they need. Priti, reflecting on her moment of obligation, notes that she became inspired to start I-MAK after meeting a 17 year old man suffering from HIV: “he was sweet, articulate, and desperately fighting to continue his education despite his withered condition. As my team prepared to file his petition in court to seek damages and demand free medication, I realized I was profoundly altered.” Be sure to read the full article and let us know what you think in the comments section.
