September Fellows Update

Echoing Green's Strategy Associate, Leslie Liao, recently returned from a two-week vacation to East Africa. While there, she had the opportunity to visit three recent fellows and took some beautiful photos (including this one from The One Acre Fund). Andrew Youn, founder of The Once Acre Fund and a 2006 fellow, wrote in with this update:

"Recently, one farmer was so grateful at her bumper harvest that she wanted to give me 100 pounds of her maize grains, enough to feed her family for a month."

2007 Echoing Green Fellow, Nina Dudnik (whose project, Seeding Labs also works in Africa), wrote in with the following update:

"One of our most exciting projects is equipping a medical school in the Congo and we were thrilled that the dean would be coming to visit. When: I’m not exactly sure. The problem: electricity has been down in Kinshasa and he only occasionally has email or phone access. Solution: shrug and smile and plan to take good care of him when he gets here. C’est l’Afrique! "

Very proud to be working with One Acre Fund

One of our MBA volunteers, Annabel Khouri, is currently working with One Acre Fund and we look forward to it being the first of many more projects with this amazing organization.
