Melanie Edwards Featured in The Christian Science Monitor

A recent edition of The Christian Science Monitor featured the incredible work of 2007 Echoing Green Fellow Melanie Edwards and her organization, MobileMetrix.  In “How To Count The ‘Invisibles,’” Gregory M. Lamb discusses the origins of MobileMetrix and the influence that it has had on local youth across Brazil, who are employed to take surveys with hand-held devices.  “One applicant held up his hand during his job interview and showed that he’d lost two fingers, blown off by a hand grenade during a drug war. “He became one of our star mobile agents, and now he’s gotten into university, and he’s making three times the minimum wage in a high-tech job,” Edwards says.”  Check out the article to learn more about Melanie’s inspiring work.
