Killing Time, On Sale Now
Ray Liuzza Jr., a prominent hotel executive, was murdered during a robbery on December 6, 1984 in New Orleans, Louisiana. 2007 Echoing Green Fellow John Thompson was accused of the crime.
After spending 18 years in prison, 14 of which on death row, 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, John Thompson was exonerated. Killing Time: An 18-Year Odyssey from Death Row to Freedom by John Hollway and Ronald M. Gauthier is a narrative account of John Thompson's quest to prove is innocence. With the help of two anti-death penalty advocates, John Thompson's freedom was granted and his case exposed severe misconducts of the Louisiana judicial system at the time.
John Thompson founded Resurrection After Exoneration soon after his release. RAE turns exonerees into leaders by providing the support, training, and educational opportunities needed for reintegration into society after spending time on death row. According to RAE, as of today there are over 400 exonerated men and women who have been wrongfully convicted of crimes.
Read more about John Thompson's incredible journey from exoneration to liberation in Killing Time, which is on sale now! Also check out a great book review by Boston Globe.
