Karen Tse wins Gleitsman International Activist Award
We were thrilled to learn this week that 2002 Echoing Green Fellow Karen Tse (Founder and Executive Director of International Bridges to Justice) won the 2009 Gleitsman International Activist Award.
The International Activist Award was established to honor individuals in the international community who have inspired change and motivated others in the realm of social activism. The $100,000 award is presented every other year, alternating with the award presented to activists in the United States.
According the Foundation's release, Alan Gleitsman desired “to recognize people who make a difference, tell their story, and make other people aware of what one person can do.”
It's no wonder that they have selected Karen Tse who has championed change by working to extend basic human rights to ordinary citizens and rebuild countries' legal systems. You can read more of Karen's story in our book, Be Bold.
Congratulations Karen!
