We couldn't be more proud!
Every year, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and a panel of judges select a cadre of outstanding “Social Entrepreneurs of the Year,” in each of twenty-two different countries. Awardees are recognized for their ability to create innovative initiatives that improve “economic opportunity and quality of life.”
1997 Echoing Green Fellow J.B. Schramm and his organization College Summit have just been named the "United States Social Entrepreneur of the Year.” Commenting on the organization's success and innovation, Pamela Hartigan, Managing Director of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship said, “College Summit offers ‘can-do’ solutions that give more low-income Americans the opportunity of college, while designing a model applicable internationally to enhance opportunities for young people.”
A most excellent component of this honor is that J.B. will attend and be recognized at the prestigious World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland at the end of January.
Congratulations, J.B.! To learn more about this award, check out the news release from College Summit.
