Have you started reading yet?
As entrepreneurs, we must learn to be resourceful, inventive, and charismatic enough to attract people to our passions and interests. As social changers, we must learn our communities, recognize the root causes of problems, and ultimately be willing to take risks when naysayers say we’ll never make it. As changemakers, we must be willing to drive forward in the face of adversity.
At a young age, William does all of this. With just a library book—and no help from Googling—William takes trash and old parts from tractors, to create the first windmill his village has ever seen. He even makes a circuit breaker to reduce the chance of an overload! His community thought he was smoking pot, but he just laughed it off and kept at it. It took him three months to put it together and his home was the first in this village to have electricity. Now that’s a story worth learning.
Start reading William’s story and find your own in his. Grab a few friends and start reading together. Discover how small acts can lead to huge possibilities.
And save the date—we’re discussing The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind on Tuesday, February 8th from 7-8:30pm EST.
