Dateline NBC recently ran an investigative piece on Serbia’s mental institutions. The shocking segment draws heavily on a previous report done by Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI)—founded by 1993 Echoing Green Fellow Eric Rosenthal—and features current MDRI COO Laurie Ahern. We’ve embedded the Dateline piece below. The images contained therein are unsettling and unforgettable. We are incredibly proud of Eric’s work, and this piece offers testament to both the difficulty and necessity of the change MDRI is making.
