  • New data tells us that recent graduates want to find a workplace that gives them an opportunity to have an impact on the world. We’ve added many more jobs to our monthly posting for January.   • One university after another is making social innovation and social entrepreneurship a priority. In recent months, Middlebury College set up a new center on their campus and now Ryerson University in Toronto is seeking someone to chair a new social entrepreneurship program: http://ht.ly/91MuT
  • TED is holding open, worldwide auditions for TED2013! TED is inviting everyone to submit a one-minute video about your TED worldwide audition and then beginning in April, auditions will happen in fourteen cities.   • Twenty-five companies that practice good citizenship and make money at the same time. Not an easy list to get on when the results are based on a review of 6,000 companies in six countries. Not surprisingly, oil and gas companies were at the bottom of the list while the tech industry leads in corporate citizenship. Those companies with the “magic mix” of social responsibility and market performance include Honda, Electrolux, Nestle, and Volkswagen. Check out all of the results: http://ht.ly/92nJk
  • In an effort to add some real data to the social enterprise sector, researchers at Harvard Business School evaluated six years of Echoing Green applicants and Fellows. We highlighted a short piece about the results a few weeks ago; in a more recent interview with Dowser, Julie Battilana shares more insights, namely that people are not out to change the world, but rather their communities and cities. More often than not, social entrepreneurs want to address issues locally and collaborate with local partners to do so.
