America's Next Top Model and Social Entrepreneurship ?!

Reciprocity Foundation youth on ANTM

If you missed the most recent episode of Tyra Bank's America's Next Top Model, then you missed the linkage between modeling and social entrepreneurship. The show featured none other than 2007 Echoing Green Fellow Taz Tagore and Reciprocity Foundation youth. In their own words:

Taz and Adam founded the Reciprocity Foundation to enable homeless and high-risk youth and young adults to permanently exit the social services system and start meaningful, sustainable careers in the Creativity Economy (e.g. fashion, design, marketing, PR). The Reciprocity Foundation aims to build a national network of programs to enable homeless youth to enroll in college, secure hands-on work experiences and build a professional network in their field of interest.

This America's Next Top Model episode focused on youth homelessness. But what's more, several lucky Reciprocity participants were styled, outfitted and modeled next to contestants. Don't think I missed one of the judges comment that the Reciprocity participants photographed better than the models. More found here.
