African Leadership Academy Launches
The African Leadership Academy recently opened in Johannesburg, South Africa with an inaugural class of 100. ALA was seeded in 2006 by Echoing Green Fellows Fred Swaniker and Chris Bradford with the bold objective of catalyzing positive change across the entire African continent.
Students like William Kamkwamba bring the ALA mission of pan-African cooperation, large-scale entrepreneurship, and a rich pipeline of African leaders feel tantalizingly close. Watch William’s story of building windmills for his home in rural Malawi, based solely on an image in a library book.
