Social Capitalist Awards Announced
The December/January issue of Fast Company just hit the newsstands and features their annual Social Capitalist awards. We’re proud to announce that nine of the forty-five stellar organizations that won this year received early stage funding and lots of love (in the form of technical assistance and overall support) from Echoing Green:
- BELL
- Citizen Schools
- City Year
- College Summit
- Jumpstart
- Public Allies
- SEED Foundation
- Teach For America
- Working Today Freelancers Union
Congratulations are in order to all of the staff within these accomplished organizations for pushing for innovation and impact.
Take a look at all the related articles within the issue, including this fine introductory piece by Keith Hammonds, which comments on the "explosion of diverse experiments" in the philanthropic space. The article mentions Echoing Green as a source for seed capital and also discusses Echoing Green Board member Andrew Kassoy's new organization, B-Lab, which supports and networks "B-Corporations"--companies that are purpose-driven and create benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
