1992 Echoing Green Fellow

Cheryl L. Dorsey is a pioneer in the social entrepreneurship movement, and the President of Echoing Green, a global organization seeding and unleashing next-generation talent to solve the world’s biggest problems. Prior to leading this social impact organization, Cheryl was a social entrepreneur herself and received an Echoing Green Fellowship in 1992 to help launch The Family Van, a community-based mobile health unit in Boston. She became the first Echoing Green Fellow to head the social venture fund in 2002.

An accomplished leader and entrepreneur, she has served in two presidential administrations as a White House Fellow and Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Labor (1997-98); Special Assistant to the Director of the Women's Bureau of the U.S. Labor Department (1998-99); and Vice Chair for the President's Commission on White House Fellowships (2009-present). Cheryl serves on several boards including the SEED Foundation and, previously, the Harvard Board of Overseers. She has a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and her Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and received her Bachelor’s degree in History and Science magna cum laude with highest honors from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges.

Cheryl has received numerous awards for her commitment to public service, including the Pfizer Roerig History of Medicine Award, the Robert Kennedy Distinguished Public Service Award, the Manual C. Carballo Memorial Prize, and Middlebury College Center for Social Entrepreneurship’s Vision Award. She was also featured as one of "America's Best Leaders" by US News & World Report and the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School in 2009, as one of The Nonprofit Times' "Power and Influence Top 50" in 2010 and 2011, and was named as one of “America's Top 25 Philanthropy Speakers” by the Business of Giving in 2016.

Janna Oberdorf

Vice President, Strategic Communications

Janna leads the communications efforts at Echoing Green, creating and implementing a strategy that leverages traditional and new media for brand development. Before joining Echoing Green, Janna was the Director of Communications and Advocacy at Women Deliver, a global advocacy organization working to advance the health and rights of girls and women around the world, and prior to that served as an editor and freelance journalist for major US magazines, newspapers, and online media outlets. When she isn’t plotting outreach efforts, she enjoys cooking, eating, and trying out new dance classes around the city.


Keno Sadler

Vice President, Programs | 1997 Echoing Green Fellow

Keno Sadler is a social entrepreneur, conference speaker, facilitator, and educator. While leading programs designed to shape the lives of young African American men through close guidance from older males, Keno began his 22 year relationship with the Breakthrough Collaborative as a teacher in the Miami and Fort Worth programs before creating and leading the Atlanta program which graduated over 90% of its students into college and introduced hundreds of college students to careers in education. He most recently served as the Executive Director of the Summerbridge Breakthrough Alumni Network (SBAN) and the creator of the SBAN Teacher of Color Preparatory Institute (TCPI) which connects aspiring teachers and administrators of color with schools that desire to be more diverse and inclusive. Keno has a degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College and has received many awards and certifications including a 1997 Echoing Green Fellowship.

Matt Smith

Vice President, Operations

Matt Smith is the vice president of operations at Echoing Green. He joins the organization after working for the United States Peace Corps for 10 years. Beginning as a volunteer in Romania leading the establishment of a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, he left the Peace Corps as the Chief Administrative Officer for Global Operations after providing oversight and risk management leadership for over $200 million in public funding. He is a graduate of the Richmond College London, and the London School of Economics. When he doesn’t have his nose in a spreadsheet, Matt enjoys urban hikes, traveling and cooking with family and friends.


Teresa Vazquez

Vice President, Development

Teresa oversees Echoing Green's ambitious development program. Before joining us she was Vice President at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and was a Director for the Nonprofit Finance Fund, a leading national CDFI. Teresa graduated from Vassar College and NYU’s Robert F. Wagner School for Public Service. She also holds a certificate in management from Columbia Business School’s Institute for Nonprofit Management. When she’s not building our global support network, Teresa enjoys the challenges of quilting and perfecting her claw hammer "House of the Rising Sun."


Jaimie An

Associate, Development

Jaimie is the primary database and research manager on the Development team, implementing systems policies and procedures, as well as data analysis projects. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Jaimie promoted human rights and social justice projects as a Program Associate with the General Board of Global Ministries. She has served as an AmeriCorps VISTA and interned with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, working on e-governance initiatives. Jaimie graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Communications and a Masters in Public Administration. When she is not working to meet our annual revenue targets, Jaimie can be found volunteering, learning new things, or eagerly waiting for the next Star Wars film.


Jessica Baird

Senior Development Associate, Corporate Relations

Jessica manages Echoing Green’s portfolio of corporate donors and coordinates corporate engagement opportunities. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Jessica worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in a variety of strategic development capacities across the organization. She was instrumental in launching PwC’s LeadersLab, an innovative leadership program for Fortune 500 executives. She also served as PwC’s first Corporate Responsibility Fellow. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a devoted Badgers fan. In her free time, you’ll find Jessica planning her next extreme adventure.


Scott Ballum Cohen

Creative Director

Scott heads Echoing Green's digital platforms and brand representation. Before joining the Communications team, Scott founded and produced Sheepless.org, an online magazine for the radical small business movement; and directed the launch of SIR.tv, an online portfolio of social innovators and entrepreneurs.

Previously, Scott served as a Senior Designer at C&G Partners, creating identity projects for the likes of Signature Theatre Company and Alhurra Television Network; and was Design Director for Housing Works, a pioneer in activism and social enterprise. After a decade in and out of Brooklyn, Scott now lives in the Hudson Valley with his husband, daughter, and unicorn of a dog.


Ben Beers

Senior Associate, Data Analysis

Ben graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris with degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. Before coming to Echoing Green, Ben spent several years working for a legal settlement administration company in Minneapolis. In his spare time, Ben is often found attending concerts or reading comics.


Dianalynn Bodero

Director of Human Resources

Dianalynn specializes in human resource systems, issues, and opportunities. She is a professional facilitator, speaker, and trainer on topics including interpersonal relationships, organization effectiveness and development, management excellence, and leadership with an emphasis in the areas of professional development and strategic planning. Dianalynn most recently served as vice president of human resources for Housing Works, Inc. and director of finance and administration for Do Something, Inc. A graduate from the State University of New York (SUNY), she has continued her studies in Human Resource Management through Cornell University. She is a certified SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), a long standing member of the Society for Human Resources Management and a member of the American Society for Training and Development. Dianalynn considers herself an activist for social equality and justice and has been arrested over a dozen times in protest of inequity and inequality during formal marches and protests. She's a real animal lover and has three cats.


Lindsay Booker

Senior Associate, Communications

Lindsay manages editorial production, media relationships, and communications partnerships at Echoing Green. Previously, she oversaw communications at Cool Culture, a New York nonprofit that works with museums and families to strengthen child and family outcomes. Lindsay earned her AB in Sociology with a certificate in African American Studies from Princeton University where she explored how self-esteem affects educational opportunity gaps. She believes that approaching social change with an intersectional lens creates the clearest pathway to equity. Lindsay enjoys finding the "small town" feel in New York City experiences, visiting her family in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and writing frivolous short stories about her childhood.


Kayleigh Collins

Senior Associate, Knowledge Management

Kayleigh develops our systems and advises on strategic systems planning at Echoing Green. She is dedicated to continuously making our work more efficient and impactful, largely through the use of Salesforce.com. Kayleigh is a certified Salesforce Administrator. As a former social worker and early learning policy aide, she has been an advocate for data-driven social change across a variety of settings. Kayleigh holds a dual degree from Brown University in Public Policy and Community Health. When she’s not busy nerding out over automation and data visualization, Kayleigh can be found lifting heavy things.


Taylor Conger

Deputy Director, Fellowship Programs

As part of the Fellowship team, Taylor provides support to the 2014 class of Global Fellows. Prior to joining us, Taylor designed and managed a domestic fellowship program at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and previously worked resettling refugees with the International Rescue Committee. Before moving across the country to NYC, Taylor worked closely with globally-minded, socially-driven MBAs as a manager at the Center for Social Innovation at Stanford University and while there, she blended her love of athletics and volunteering by moonlighting as the head coach of a wonderful and dynamic high school girls lacrosse team. She holds a Master in Public Health in Forced Migration and a Master of Science in Social Work, both from Columbia University. When she isn't doing her best to support the incredible work of the fellows, Taylor can be found running in Central Park or playing at the local dog park with her puppy, Charlie.


Maggie Gleason

Senior Associate, Events

Maggie manages the rich landscape of projects, logistics and operations for Echoing Green’s fundraising and programmatic events. Previously, she represented authors as a publicist for Workman Publishing where she organized extensive national book tours and media. Maggie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Syracuse University with a dual degree in Art History and Public Relations. When she’s not planning the party of the year, you’ll find Maggie cooking up a gourmet meal, playing the piano or checking out one of New York’s flea markets.


Kate Hayes

Director, Direct Impact

Kate oversees programming for a dynamic group of emerging business leaders who are dedicated to realizing their full potential as agents of social change. Prior to joining Echoing Green, she worked as Director of Evaluation and Program Impact in the national office of Minds Matter, where she developed new systems and methods for evaluating organizational success. While at Minds Matter, she led several new initiatives for engaging alumni, scaling the organization, and training 1,700 skills-based volunteers across the United States. Kate currently sits on the Executive Committee at the Northfield Mount Hermon School, where she also serves as Chair of the Young Alumni Committee. She holds a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University. When she is not engaging young professionals in meaningful leadership experiences, Kate can be found practicing yoga in studios across the city, cooking with fresh produce from farmers markets, or planning her next international trip.


Joanna Helou

Senior Development Associate, Foundation Relations

Joanna manages Echoing Green's portfolio of foundation donors. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Joanna coordinated development efforts for the national office of Public Allies. Joanna is a graduate of Boston College with a degree in Economics, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Public Administration at Baruch College. In her free time, you'll find Joanna catching a Broadway show, exploring a section of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or walking all over the city.


Nashay Jones

Senior Associate, Fellowship Programs

Nashay manages Echoing Green’s 2015 global fellows through providing support, guidance and connection to community. Nashay is a multi-issue human rights and social justice advocate. Before joining Echoing Green, she managed the youth engagement portfolio within the Democracy and Power fund at the Open Society Foundations. Additionally, Nashay worked at Amnesty International USA in both the regional and national offices where she contributed to various human rights initiatives, such as the Campaign to End the Death Penalty. Nashay received her BA in Political Science from Howard University and her master’s in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Nashay and her family recently moved back to NYC. When not supporting the fellows, you will find her and her family rediscovering Brooklyn through food.


Cara Lee

Communications Associate

Cara maintains Echoing Green's digital platforms, including its website and social media channels, and provides support and project management to the Communications team. Her previous work in nonprofit communications comprised email marketing, newsletter production, and website administration. Cara earned her bachelor's degree in public relations at SUNY Plattsburgh, where she also served as a social media intern and a public relations intern. In her spare time, Cara enjoys practicing yoga, concocting eccentric meals, and strolling through parks and gardens.


Corie Pope Lieberman

Director of Development

Corie has been with Echoing Green for seven years, where she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the six-person development team. Before joining Echoing Green, she interned with the African Division of Human Rights Watch. Corie graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Chicago. When she’s taking a break from commandeering donations, you might find Corie at a local concert or travelling to a music festival.


Erica Lock

Director of Fellowship Programs

Erica leads the Fellowship team at Echoing Green. She manages the three verticals of work, setting the strategy and building partnerships for Search & Selection, Individual Fellow Support and Fellow Community. She also has managed portfolios of Echoing Green Fellows and executed multi-day events and conferences. A thorough line to her work, Erica believes in the strength of systems and evaluation, a philosophy she strives to live every day. Before joining us, Erica worked at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability in the Bloomberg administration, MTV Networks, and various marketing, branding and advertising agencies in research, operations and business development roles. She studied Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School and focused on Marketing at Wharton undergrad. When Erica’s not working with our Fellows, she’s raising a toddler, baking bread pudding and (very slowly) renovating a house.


Todd Molé

Associate, Executive Office

Todd supports the Executive team in an operational capacity, largely through the execution of project and task management. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Todd spent 5 years working for Conan O'Brien in various roles throughout the many iterations of his show. He is also the co-organizer of the Conan Classic Charity Golf outing, which raises funds to support the Cor Unum Meal Center. This annual event continues to grow each year and is still currently operating. Todd graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Communications. When he is not in the office, Todd can be found taking in a local comedy show or exploring one of the many different communities in and outside New York City.


Liza Mueller

Director of Operations and Knowledge Management

Liza is dedicated to ensuring that Echoing Green is a data informed organization by leveraging cloud based technologies, such as Salesforce.com, and spearheading initiatives to better report on outcomes of the organization's work. Previously, Liza worked with Aid to Artisans, providing market links to artisans in developing countries, and behind the scenes with documentary filmmakers telling impactful stories. Her career has a through-line of creatively designing and implementing systems to collect, organize and present information in such a way that it can be utilized to further the mission and goals of remarkable organizations, entrepreneurs, and artists. Liza holds a degree in Biology from Hendrix College, and was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship which allowed her to travel the world surveying the impacts of coastal development on sea turtle populations. She is also a Salesforce.com Certified Administrator as well as a 2014 Salesforce Foundation Community Hero.


Jason “Fozzie” Nelson

Office Manager

Fozzie is responsible for overseeing administrative operations for the Echoing Green office. Prior to joining the organization, Fozzie was the office manager of an Echoing Green Fellow, Wendy Kopp, at Teach For America. Fozzie has a BA in Communications from the University of Illinois, and a storied background in nonprofit administration. Fozzie says that his job is to make everyone else’s job easier. When not obsessing about logistics, Fozzie can be found enjoying “so bad they’re good” movies with his partner and dogs.


Camila Pazos

Deputy Director, Search & Selection

Camila directs search and selection at Echoing Green, where she drives strategy for finding and selecting emerging leaders from across the globe to join the organization’s community of Fellows. Before joining Echoing Green, Camila worked with the Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability (YELS) Program to provide college-bound high school students the opportunity to experience life at the University of Florida while learning about social entrepreneurship and practicing sustainability. Originally from Colombia, Camila graduated from the University of Florida with a Master's degree in Sustainable Development Practice and holds a graduate certificate in Global Public Health. She believes that in an inequitable world, the power of a community can be transformational and views her role as a vehicle for access for those who are so often underrepresented in the social impact space. In her free time, you can find her telling stories about her childhood or exploring New York City.


Min Pease

Director of Impact Investing

Min leads Echoing Green’s impact investing program. She provides capacity building support to Fellows seeking or receiving investment and engages investors in the Echoing Green community. She also manages research and data sharing to elevate the profile of emerging social entrepreneurs, highlighting trends in early stage investment and support. Previously she worked at the Global Impact Investing Network, researched economic and workforce development issues, consulted in impact investing, and received a Fulbright. She has a BA in Economics from Whitman College and a MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Outside of work Min enjoys running, drinking coffee, and actively seeking out puns.


Neelam Sakaria

Associate, Search & Selection

Neelam joins Echoing Green after coordinating the NYU Leadership Fellows program, a one year leadership development program for undergraduate students. Her past experience includes working the dynamic Tel Aviv start-up scene at the StarTAU Entrepreneurship Center and focusing on human rights policy as a research assistant at Physicians for Human Rights-Israel. Neelam holds a BA in Global Liberal Studies, concentrating on Politics, Human Rights and International Development, and Middle Eastern Studies from New York University. In her spare time, she enjoys laughing at bad jokes and satisfying her sweet tooth.


Alexandra Smith

Associate, Fellowship Programs

Alexandra joins Echoing Green as a program and data assistant after working in arts education for Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Music Center. She holds a BA in Sociology from New York University where she focused on sociology of cities and the arts. Though born and raised in New York's beautiful Hudson Valley, she now happily lives in Brooklyn. When she's not at work, Alexandra enjoys running a feminist book club and practicing her violin, though rarely at the same time.


Leah Stern

Deputy Director, Fellowship Programs

Leah manages Echoing Green’s Climate Fellows, ensuring they have the full support, guidance and resources of the Echoing Green community. Throughout her career, Leah has worked at the intersection of environment, gender and poverty at organizations such as the Women’s Environment and Development Organization, CDP, and the U.S. State Department. Since 2010, she has been involved with Innovation: Africa, raising funds and running campaigns; she now sits on their Volunteer Executive Committee. Leah also served two years as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer stationed in Senegal where she focused on agroforestry and girls’ access to education. Though the trees she planted died, Leah’s enthusiasm to continue working on social and environmental issues remains strong. When she’s not encouraging the Climate Fellows to save our warming planet, you can find Leah horseback riding, knitting, or exploring far corners of the globe.


Tiffany Thompson

Senior Associate, Fellowship Programs

Tiffany Thompson manages Echoing Green’s Black Male Achievement (BMA) Fellows, ensuring they have the full support, guidance and resources of the Echoing Green community. Prior to Echoing Green, Tiffany worked as the My Brother’s Keeper Engagement Associate. In this role, she supported President Obama’s Community Challenge, partnering with Senior White House Administrative officials and Deloitte consultants to measure the communications and engagement of the Community Allies and Challenge Acceptors. In addition, she supported the online launch strategy of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance. Although a New York native, Philadelphia holds a special place in her heart after living there for almost 10 years. Tiffany, an alumna of Temple University, worked for Mayor Michael Nutter’s Philadelphia Youth Commission and AccessMatters’ CDC Funded Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative. When she is not working to change the narrative of young men of color, Tiffany is either mentoring youth or catching her shows on DVR.


Kai Yu

Senior Accountant

Kai Yu is a senior accountant at Echoing Green. He specializes in taxation, database management, and reporting, and has many years of financial experience in various industries including corporations and nonprofits. Prior to joining the organization, Kai worked for Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and is a CPA, notary public, and a member of the Ascend Pan-Asian Leaders of Finance and Accounting Organization.


Engjell Latollari

Programs Coordinator

As Programs Coordinator, Engjell provides support across Echoing Green’s Fellowship, Direct Impact, and Impact Investing Programs. Prior to joining Echoing Green, Engjell was an Admissions Ambassador to the City College of New York, serving as the first contact, and essential link, between the CCNY Admissions Office and all prospective students. He also held the position of Recruitment Director for CollegeSpring, a nonprofit organization that partners with schools and community organizations to help students from low-income backgrounds boost SAT scores, navigate college admissions and financial aid, and confidently pursue college degrees. Engjell holds a degree in Economics from The City College of New York. When he is not working to support the Programs Team, Engjell can be found enjoying a thrilling soccer game and eagerly anticipating the release of The Winds of Winter.


Stacy Lewis

Director of Human Resources

Stacy is an experienced HR professional who has worked in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors for more than 15 years. Organizations that she has helped support include East Harlem Tutorial Program, Knowledge Delivery Systems, Power My Learning (formerly CFY) and Pratt Institute. Stacy describes herself as an advocate for employees whose primary goal is to help leaders find new ways to engage and motivate their teams. Stacy holds a B.A. in Biology from Hofstra University, and a M.S. in Human Resources Management from Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy.

A lifelong Brooklynite, Stacy spends her free time exploring her new surroundings in Queens!
