Christine Eun - Social Investment Council Profile

 1) Tell us about yourself!  Where are you from and what do you do for a living?

I'm a native Southerner (from Atlanta) and currently live in Manhattan.  I worked in management consulting at McKinsey & Company for three years before joining Google, where I am currently an Associate Marketing Manager.

2) Why did you get involved with Echoing Green and our Social Investment Council?  How have you been involved?

Last year, I was searching for a way to serve the larger community during my free time outside of work.  Echoing Green was known as a leader in enabling lasting social change, and I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it.  I was impressed by its ability to identify talented entrepreneurs and provide them with the financial and people support to realize their aspirations.  Even better, Echoing Green’s Social Investment Council provides a unique way for young professionals to get involved.  I have had the opportunity to consult one of its organizations, Mercado Global, on its marketing and product strategy.  I also enjoyed reading fellowship applications and helping the finalists refine their pitches.  Lastly, I have helped organize social events that bring together all the Social Investment Council members, which are a lot of fun!

3) What is your social change passion?

I believe that there is so much opportunity to minimize disparity in this world – including healthcare, economic development and human rights.  I am especially passionate about efforts that aim to provide better access to healthcare and/or improve the quality of medical treatment in developing countries.

4) Who is your hero?

My family!  They continually inspire me to care about the world.
